About Us
HUVRdata is the next generation Inspection Data Management Software (IDMS) Platform

Leadership Team

Why I Founded HUVRdata
I founded HUVRdata because I realized that the industrial asset inspection paradigm was broken. Owner operators in energy creation and heavy manufacturing, as well as the third party inspectors contracted to ensure the mechanical integrity of assets, face an uphill battle.
Sometimes they don’t realize that there is a better way than paper checklists, PDF files, drawers full of thumb drives and stacks of hard drives – all full of hard-won inspection data. Sometimes they do, but struggle to capitalize on the tsunami of new data types from emerging inspection technologies like robots, drones, NDT devices, as well as the promises of AI and ML. I committed to creating a simple to use, purpose-built platform that transforms the way workflow data is collected, managed, and monetized.

Why I Founded HUVRdata
I believe that in any successful professional journey, four things must come together. Business goals must align with a pressing opportunity, and a pervasive market need – all at the right time and with a little luck mixed in. It was the alignment of all four that made me embark on founding HUVR. It was also with a vision to create a company where employees could change an industry and see the fruits of their work each day, all while enabling a culture of proactivity, accountability, transparency and harmonized execution. I’m extremely proud to be a part of HUVR today and to help guide our future.

Why I Joined HUVRdata
For me, who I work with is absolutely everything and just about more than anything else, I value people who do what they say they’re going to do. After passing on a couple of full-time CFO opportunities, I decided to stick in the fractional world, roll up my sleeves and work with people who shared the values I hold. The HUVR team and leadership team are full of those people, and working with them is a genuine delight.

CFO

Why I Joined HUVRdata
I’m fortunate to be at a place in my career where I can be choosy about where I’ll invest my time, effort and passion. An organization has to legitimately “have it” – a great product that works as well as advertised, great customers who love the company/product, and a great culture. I’m proud to be on board the HUVRdata rocketship with such an incredible crew as we very literally disrupt the way industrial asset owners handle operations.

Why I Joined HUVRdata
I joined HUVRdata because it was the perfect place to use the skills, experience – and most importantly, passions – I’d gained over the last 20 years. I’ve worked as an individually contributing engineer focused on building technology for the DOD, as the founder/CEO of multiple startups, as the leader of development teams, as a CTO and as a mentor to aspiring entrepreneurs. I love creating and maximizing the value of technology almost as much as I love leading and empowering teams. HUVR is the perfect venue for both.

VP, Engineering

Why I Joined HUVRdata
My criteria for joining a new organization are very simple, but demanding: 1) there must be a world-class culture driven from the top down; 2) there must be a massive opportunity for professional growth; and 3) it must bring me closer to fulfilling my mission of implementing robots for good. HUVR checks every box. After spending the last decade making drone and robotic technology more capable, I knew that leveraging the rich data that they create to drive insights and positive change was the key to scaling adoption. I am thrilled to be helping world-class enterprises along this journey.

Why I Joined HUVRdata
Fascinating advances are happening in the energy industry with the continued focus on digital transformation and the proliferation of valuable data sets. Having spent years helping to advance data storage and computing capability for government and research organizations in the environment and energy spaces, I already knew some of the obstacles and opportunities companies were facing. HUVRdata’s amazingly-capable staff and adept leadership team had already won battled-tested experience that put the company in a vanguard position in the market. The opportunity to be at the forefront of this evolution was an exciting prospect that I couldn’t turn down!

Advisors

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
Although the renewables industry is rapidly maturing, there remains a huge gap related to how inspections of operational assets are performed and what is done with the data collected. Further, as more and more large-scale hybrid projects (wind, solar, storage) are built, the challenges in managing these assets becomes even more complex. HUVR has a unique approach to solving this challenging issue and can really positively influence the direction of this growing sector over the coming years. I’m delighted to be able to provide my perspective gained having worked in this sector for the last two decades

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
During times of uncertainty with managing equipment assets, the need for proper management of integrity data has never been so important as it is now. HUVR provides unique data management solutions and I’m proud to be part of their advisory team, providing innovative and actionable management of inspection and maintenance data enabling owner/users the ability to be forever proactive instead of reactive to their integrity management. I look forward to HUVR being the new model for integrity management as “Xerox” once was to document reproduction era in the 70s.

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
In my experience there are a large number of mid to small size companies that may have a handle on the data-gathering side, but perhaps not aware of the complexity in an intuitive data-presentation layer for customers, co-workers, clients. Larger companies may opt for an in-house solution that may suffer from sustainability challenges, true integration, and uptime as employees move to other opportunities. I aim to utilize my experiences and challenges faced over 30 + years in oil & gas to help HUVR provide a clear choice for customers and industries utilizing robotics/image-based inspections.

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
I had been looking for a software solution for many years to deal with the unique needs of tanks. The challenge was to find a system that would be useful to the integrity, operational and management organizations in a company. When I was introduced to the way HUVR could not only handle third party inspections but also bring value in the form of customizable checklists, I was sold. I enjoy helping HUVR help their customers to solve their problems and create value.

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
Seeing the solution before the problem is observed can be found through individual hunches. That is what drew me to HUVR early in their entrance to the inspection space as it aligned with the intention/initiation of Valkim Technologies. Their vision for simplifying the cumbersome proprietary data formats, ingestion of content and linkage to Inspection Data Management Systems (IDMS) was an industry challenge that grew as digitization set in the strategic horizon for all in the inspection and maintenance space. As well as their intuitive understanding of workflows to guide the transition of technician, technology, and customer, ushered their adoption readily.
The opportunity to be an Advisor is such a privilege for me as our synergies seem to jive and resonate. The opportunity to witness first-hand their growth efforts, successes and plans is a privilege one holds dear as the cadence of change encroaches on convention. We view these exciting times and I appreciate the opportunity to participate.

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
Why I am an advisor to HUVR is an interesting question and it really is based upon the ability to help build on wide experience to make a product that contains all I have desired over the years. HUVR is a listening organization wanting to learn and implement. The community of partners and advisors they have assembled allows a rich interaction that can only benefit us as individuals, the company, and its customer base. We do not always agree, which is a key element of the stimulation come join the discussion its lively and stimulating.
John O'Brien

Why I Became a HUVRdata Advisor
I have spent the last 30 years defining the technical requirements for implementing and operationalizing integrity management programs for topsides, subsea, and pipelines. The IM projects always included data management systems and workflow processes.
In my last role, I had the pleasure of leading a global effort to replace the legacy IDMS with a new common tool or a suite of tools. The mind map that I have shared with HUVR is an illustration of all the functionality that we were going to deliver. Functionality, data visualization, and digital workflow are the three key pillars of modern IDMS.
I’m confident that through joint collaboration with HUVR, and our industry advisory team, we can deliver a best-in-class solution that the market will adopt.
Based on the application’s current functionality, the effort to design and build a best-in-class solution is within our grasp as we are not looking at a total recoding scenario. We’re early in designing and delivering a phased modular functionality supported by industry expertise and best management practices.
